LIFE (Learning is Fun & Exciting) is a programme

that believes that learning is for everyone & given

time, children will also realise that learning is fun

and exciting. We believe that all children can be

nurtured to the best of their potential as children

are naturally curious, want to have fun and love to

play. By providing responsive, reciprocal and respectful interactions, staff and other adults can purposefully

facilitate so that children may be actively engaged in

constructing knowledge of their world in a safe and

secure environmment. Children, no matter how challenging

their circumstances may be, will have the opportunities to achieve their potential so that they will be empowered to become thinking and responsible individuals who value

life-long education and are well-adjusted and responsible members of society. The targeted group are primary school children who : • are scoring below 70% in school examinations. • are awaiting to be placed in school.

Role of volunteers 1. Facilitate and instill a love for learning in the children 2. Encourage and motivate children to take part in the activity and achieve immediate goals. 3. It is a 5-hour programme with workshops and activities for the whole cohort of Primary 4 students. The focus is on helping them succeed, teamwork and friendship. SALE (Salvation Army Library Enterprise) is a group of volunteers helping out at the books section of The Salvation Army’s Family Thrift Stores. They help process, classify, price and shelve books which have been donated by the public to The Salvation Army. These books will either be redistributed to needy beneficiaries we work with or will be placed in the Thrift Stores for sale.
